Abstract
Indonesia menempati peringkat ke-36 penghasil garam
tersebar di dunia, namun kualitas garamnya belum mampu bersaing
dengan garam luar negeri. Sedangkan kebutuhan garam farmasi terus
meningkat. Pendirian garam farmasi berbahan baku garam industri
tinggi sesuai standar farmasi. Untuk mendapatkan kemurnian tinggi ini
digunakan metode pemurnian Chemical Treatment Process.
reaktor Continous Stired Tank Reactor (CSTR). Reaksi ini bersifat
eksotermis dan searah (irreversible). Kemudian memisahkan impuritas
didirikan.
Pharmaceutical-grade salt is a type of salt characterized by an
exceptionally high sodium chloride ($NaCl$) purity level of 99.8%,
with impurities approaching 0%. In the pharmaceutical industry, it
serves as a critical raw material used extensively in the production of
health beverages, tablets, syrups, vaccine solvents, intravenous fluids,
hemodialysis solutions, and oral rehydration salts. Furthermore, it is
utilized within the cosmetics industry as a key component in shampoo
and soap formulations. Although Indonesia ranks as the 36th largest
salt producer in the world, the quality of its local salt has yet to
compete effectively with international products, even as the domestic
demand for pharmaceutical-grade salt continues to rise. The
establishment of a pharmaceutical salt plant using industrial salt as a
raw material represents a strategic step toward increasing the value of
local resources through precise purification. This process aims to
eliminate various impurities in industrial salt to yield high-purity
sodium chloride that meets pharmaceutical standards. To achieve this,
the Chemical Treatment Process is employed, as it is simpler and more
cost-effective than alternative methods. The plant is planned for
construction in 2030 in Tuban, East Java, with an annual capacity of
2,000 tons. The production process involves reacting industrial salt with
sodium hydroxide and sodium carbonate within a Continuous Stirred
Tank Reactor (CSTR). This reaction is both exothermic and
irreversible. Following the reaction, impurities are separated, and the
solution undergoes crystallization to produce $NaCl$ crystals with a
purity of 99.8%. The establishment of this facility requires a fixed
capital of IDR 210,911,154,548. Financial analysis indicates a Return
on Investment (ROI) of 23.95%, a Pay Out Time (POT) of 3.13 years, a
Break-Even Point (BEP) of 48.40%, a Shut Down Point (SDP) of
22.54%, and a Discounted Cash Flow Rate of Return (DCFRR) of
10%. Based on these calculations, the pharmaceutical salt plant is
deemed highly feasible for establishment.
