Abstract
Diabetes mellitus merupakan masalah kesehatan global dengan
prevalensi yang terus meningkat, termasuk di Indonesia. Salah satu
mengetahui karakteristik demografi pasien berdasarkan usia, jenis
sebesar 27,27%, kategori III A sebesar 9,09%, kategori III B sebesar
1,82%, kategori IV A sebesar 12,73%, dan kategori IV B sebesar
3,64%.
Diabetes mellitus is a global health problem with an increasing
prevalence, including in Indonesia. One of the complications of DM is
diabetic ulcer, which has a high risk of causing amputation and death.
This study aims to determine the demographic characteristics of
patients based on age, gender, length of hospital stay, patient treatment,
and analysis of antibiotic use in the treatment of diabetic ulcers using
the Gyssens method at Bung Karno Regional Public Hospital, Surakarta
City.
This study employed a non-experimental descriptive design
with a retrospective approach. The sampling technique used was
purposive sampling, with data collected from patient medical records
meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis was
conducted using the Gyssens method.
The results showed that the majority of patients were female
(56.36%), aged 51–60 years (40%), with a length of stay of 4 days
(36.36%). The most commonly used single antibiotic was ceftriaxone
(45.45%), and the most frequent combination was ceftriaxone with
metronidazole (38.18%). The results of the rationality analysis using
the Gyssens method obtained category 0 at 45.45%, category II B at
27.27%, category III A at 9.09%, category III B at 1.82%, category IV
A at 12.73%, and category IV B at 3.64%.
