Abstract
Ekstrak daun kedondong mempunyai kandungan tanin, saponin,
dan flavonoid yang bermanfaat untuk penyembuhan luka bakar, ekstrak
daun kedondong akan lebih nyaman digunakan jika dibuat dalam
sediaan topikal. Ekstrak daun kedondong dibuat dalam sediaan topikal
berupa emulgel dengan HPMC sebagai gelling agent. Penelitian ini
mempunyai beberapa tujuan yaitu mengetahui variasi konsentrasi
HPMC dan formula yang berpengaruh terhadap mutu fisik dan stabiitas
sediaan emulgel, emulgel ekstrak daun kedondong memiliki aktivitas
penyembuhan luka bakar.
Ekstrak daun kedondong dibuat dengan metode maserasi
menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%. Ekstrak daun kedondong
diformulasikan dalam sediaan emulgel dengan tiga variasi HPMC
sebesar 2%, 3%, dan 4%. Sediaan emulgel dilakukan uji aktivitas
meliputi uji organoleptis, uji homogenitas, uji viskositas, uji daya lekat,
uji daya sebar, uji stabilitas, uji pH, dan uji tipe emulgel. Pengujian
pemberian luka bakar pada hewan uji dilakukan setelah pengujian
sediaan emulgel. Dilakukan analisis data diameter luka bakar
menggunakan SPSS (anova one way).
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada ekstrak etanol daun
kedondong dapat dibuat menjadi sediaan emulgel yang memiliki mutu
fisik yang baik. Emulgel ekstrak etanol daun kedondong mempunyai
efek penyembuhan luka bakar. Formula 3 merupakan formula yang
mempunyai mutu fisik, stabilitas dan penyembuhan luka bakar paling
efektif karna memiliki konsentrasi HPMC 4% karena tidak memiliki
perbedaan yang signifikan dengan kontrol positif dengan nilai sig >
0,05.
The extract of kedondong leaves contains tannins, saponins, and
flavonoids, which are beneficial for burn healing. The kedondong leaf
extract would be more convenient to use if formulated into a topical
preparation. The extract is prepared into a topical form of emulgel with
HPMC as the gelling agent. This study aims to determine the variations
in HPMC concentration and the formulation's effect on the physical
quality and stability of the emulgel preparation, as well as to evaluate
the burn healing activity of the kedondong leaf extract emulgel.
The kedondong leaf extract was obtained through maceration
using 96% ethanol as the solvent. The extract was then formulated into
an emulgel with three variations of HPMC concentrations: 2%, 3%,
and 4%. The emulgel preparations underwent several activity tests,
including organoleptic test, homogeneity test, viscosity test, adhesion
test, spreadability test, stability test, pH test, and emulgel type test.
Burn induction on test animals was conducted following the emulgel
preparation testing. The data analysis of burn wound diameter was
performed using SPSS (one-way ANOVA).
The results of the research show that the ethanol extract of
kedondong leaves can be made into an emulgel preparation which has
good physical quality. The ethanol extract emulgel of kedondong
leaves has a healing effect on burn wounds. Formula 3 is a formula that
has the most effective physical quality, stability and healing of burn
wounds because it has an HPMC concentration of 4% because it has no
significant difference with the positive control with a sig value > 0.05.
