Abstract
Antioksidan merupakan suatu senyawa yang berfungsi untuk menjaga sel-sel di dalam tubuh dan menghambat reaksi oksidasi yang disebabkan oleh radikal bebas. Kulit buah duku (Lansium domesticum Corr.) mengandung senyawa bioaktif berupa alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin, triterpenoid, dan saponin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak metanol kulit buah duku dengan metode DPPH dengan parameter nilai IC₅₀. Serbuk kulit buah duku dimaserasi menggunakan metanol.
Ekstrak kulit buah duku (Lansium domesticum Corr.) dilakukan uji skrining fitokimia. Selanjutnya ekstrak kulit buah duku diuji aktivitas antioksidan terhadap radikal bebas DPPH dengan mengukur nilai absorbansi dengan spektrofotometer UV-Vis, kemudian dihitung persen peredaman dan nilai IC₅₀.
Berdasarkan hasil skrining fitokimia ekstrak metanol kulit buah duku dapat disimpulkan mengandung senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin, triterpenoid, dan saponin. Hasil IC₅₀ ekstrak metanol kulit buah duku (Lansium domesticum Corr.) yaitu 65,36 ± 0,59 ppm termasuk dalam kategori antioksidan kuat karena memiliki nilai antara 50-100 ppm dan hasil IC₅₀ vitamin C yaitu 2,50 ± 0,66 ppm termasuk dalam kategori antioksidan sangat kuat karena nilai < 50 ppm.
Antioxidants are compounds that function to protect cells in the
body and inhibit oxidation reactions caused by free radicals. Duku fruit
skin (Lansium domesticum Corr.) contains bioactive compounds in the
form of alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, triterpenoids and saponins. This
study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of methanol extract of
duku fruit peel using the DPPH method with IC₅₀ value parameters.
Duku fruit skin powder is macerated using methanol. Duku fruit
peel extract (Lansium domesticum Corr.) was subjected to a
phytochemical screening test. Next, the duku fruit peel extract was
tested for antioxidant activity against DPPH free radicals by measuring
the absorbance value with a UV-Vis spectrophotometer, then
calculating the percent attenuation and IC₅₀ value.
Based on the results of phytochemical screening, the methanol
extract of duku fruit peel can be concluded to contain alkaloids,
flavonoids, tannins, triterpenoids and saponins. The IC₅₀ result of the
methanol extract of duku fruit peel (Lansium domesticum Corr.) is
65.36 ± 0.59 ppm, which is included in the strong antioxidant category
because it has a value between 50-100 ppm and the IC₅₀ result of
vitamin C is 2.50 ± 0.66 ppm, including in the very strong antioxidant
category because the value is <50 ppm.
