Abstract

Radikal bebas dari sinar ultraviolet yang berlebih dapat menimbulkan beberapa gangguan dan kondisi degeneratif. Zat antioksidan digunakan sebagai tindakan preventif terhadap radikal bebas. Ekstrak etanol daun kersen (Muntingia calabura L) memiliki khasiat sebagai tabir surya alami. Salah satu sediaan yang dapat membantu pemakaian sebagai sediaan tabir surya adalah sediaan krim. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui stabilitas dan mutu fisik serta aktivitas tabir surya krim ekstrak etanol daun kersen. Penelitian ini menggunakan 4 formula berbeda yaitu F1, F2, F3, dan F4 dengan konsentrasi ekstrak berturut-turut yaitu 0; 1; 2; 4 %. Sediaan krim ekstrak etanol daun kersen dilakukan pengujian mutu fisik dan uji stabilitas dengan cycling test selama 6 siklus (Sampel disimpan pada suhu 4 oC dalam waktu 24 jam kemudian sampel dipindahkan pada suhu 40 oC dalam waktu 24 jam. Proses ini dikatakan sebagai 1 siklus.). Uji aktivitas tabir surya krim dilakukan secara in vitro dengan mengukur nilai Sun Protektion Factor (SPF) menggunakan Spektrofotometri UV. Data hasil uji mutu fisik, uji stabilitas dan SPF kemudian dianalisis secara statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa krim ekstrak etanol daun kersen dengan variasi konsentrasi ekstrak etanol daun kersen sebagai zat aktif memenuhi stabilitas dan mutu fisik yang baik. Konsentrasi ekstrak berpengaruh terhadap aktivitas tabir surya yaitu semakin tinggi konsentrasi ekstrak semakin tinggi nilai SPF yang didapat, masingmasing F1, F2, F3, dan F4 memiliki nilai berturut-turut (3,65), (8,49); (14,11); dan (31,74). Free radicals from excess ultraviolet rays can cause several disorders and degenerative conditions. Antioxidant substances are used as a preventive measure against free radicals. Kersen leaf ethanol extract (Muntingia calabura L) has efficacy as a natural sunscreen. One preparation that can help use as a sunscreen preparation is a cream preparation. The aim of the research was to determine the stability and physical quality and activity of sunscreen cream of cherry leaf ethanol extract. This study used 4 different formulas namely F1, F2, F3, and F4 with extract concentrations respectively 0; 1; 2; 4 %. The preparation of cherry leaf ethanol extract cream was tested for physical quality and stability test by cycling test for 6 cycles (Samples were stored at 4 oC within 24 hours then samples were transferred at 40 oC within 24 hours. This process is said to be 1 cycle.) . Activity test of sunscreen cream was carried out in vitro by measuring the Sun Protection Factor (SPF) value using UV spectrophotometry. The results of the physical quality test, stability test and SPF were then analyzed statistically. The results showed that the cherry leaf ethanol extract krim with various concentrations of cherry leaf ethanol extract as the active substance met the stability and good physical quality. The concentration of the extract has an effect on the activity of sunscreen, namely the higher the concentration of the extract, the higher the SPF value obtained, respectively F1, F2, F3, and F4 have (3,65), (8,49); (14,11); dan (31,74)
