Abstract
Penyebab kerontokan rambut dimulai dari terlepasnya rambut dari kulit
kepala dengan sendirinya dan melebihi batas normal. Kandungan senyawa kimia
variasi konsentrasi propilen glikol 20%, 25%, 30%, ditambahkan satu formula
sebagai kontrol negatif. Dilakukan uji mutu fisik sediaan hair tonic dilanjutkan
pengujian aktivitas pertumbuhan rambut kelinci New Zealand White dengan
Formulasi hair tonic ekstrak etanol daun pare memiliki aktivitas
pertumbuhan rambut sebanding dengan minoxidil. Variasi konsentrasi propilen
glikol tidak berpengaruh pada aktivitas pertumbuhan rambut. Formula 1 memiliki
Hair loss is a disorder characterized by the detachment of hair from the scalp
by itself and exceeding normal limits. Bitter melon leaves (Momordica Charantia
L.) are leaves with chemical compounds that can promote hair growth. This study
aims to determine the effectiveness of hair tonic formulation on hair growth,
determine the most effective propylene glycol concentration when viewed from
physical quality and find out the best hair tonic formula as a hair grower.
Bitter melon leaves are extracted by maceration method using 96% ethanol.
The extract was then made 3 formulas with concentrations of 4% each with
variations in propylene glycol concentrations of 20%, 25%, 30%, added one
formula as a negative control. Physical quality tests of hair tonic preparations were
carried out followed by testing the activity of New Zealand White rabbit hair
growth with parameters of weight and length of ram but. The data were analyzed
statistically by anova test on normal (homogeneous) data while crucial walis test
on abnormal (inhomogeneous) data .
The hair tonic formulation of bitter melon leaf ethanol extract has hair
growth activity comparable to minoxidil. The concentration of propylene glycol has
no effect on hair growth activity. Formula 1 has the best hair growth activity
compared to other formulas. The concentration of propylene glycol is assessed by
the effective physical quality at a concentration of 20%.
