Abstract
diinduksi karagenan 1%. Efek antiinflamasi diuji menggunakan
pletismometer air raksa sehingga diperoleh data volume edema, AUC,
Inflammation is a disease that occurs when there is injury,
infection, cell damage, or the appearance of antigens, or disease occurs.
NSAIDs (Non Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) are the drugs most
often prescribed to inflammation, one of which is indomethacin. This
research aims to determine the effect of cardamom oil variations on the
stability of the physical quality of indomethacin emulgel preparations
and the effective concentration of cardamom oil as a penetration
enhancer in indomethacin emulgel preparations.
This research is an experimental research where the stages carried
out include taking indomethacin as a research material, emulgel
formulation with varying concentrations of F1 (1%); F2 (2%); F3 (3%)
and F4 (emulgel base without cardamom oil), making emulgel and
making control. The cycling test method tested the entire emulgel
preparation for physical quality and stability. Then, anti-inflammatory
testing was carried out in vivo on 5 groups of test animals by applying
emulgel to the feet of mice that had been induced by 1% carrageenan.
The anti-inflammatory effect was tested using a mercury
plethysmometer to obtain data on edema volume, AUC, and DAI. The
research results were processed statistically.
The formulation of indomethacin emulgel with a combination of
cardamom oil concentrations has an effect on increasing pH and
spreadability as well as decreasing viscosity and adhesion to emulgel
preparations and poor staability. The results of the inflammatory activity
test of all formulas were that they could provide a better penetration
effect on male white rats in formula 3, namely a concentration of 3%.
