IDENTIFIKASI HIDROKUINON DAN ANALISIS CEMARAN LOGAM BERAT (Hg dan Pb) DALAM KRIM PEMUTIH TANPA MEREK DI KOTA X

Sebagian besar perempuan Indonesia menginginkan kulit putih, bersih dan cerah untuk menjaga penampilan agar tetap menarik. Salah satu hal yang dilakukan untuk menunjang penampilannya adalah dengan penggunaan krim pemutih wajah. Krim pemutih wajah yang mengandung hidrokuinon dan cemaran logam berat dapat menimbulkan bintik hitam dikulit dan mengganggu sistemsyaraf karena bersifat toksik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya kandungan hidrokuinon dan cemaran logam berat (Hg) dan (Pb) dan mengetahui kadar cemaran logam berat (Hg) dan (Pb) dalam sampel krim pemutih tanpa merek di Kota X masih dalam batas aman berdasarkan BPOM RI nomor 12 tahun 2019. Penelitian ini menggunakan tiga sampel krim pemutih tanpa merek dari Kota X yang dibeli secara langsung. Analisa kualitatif hidrokuinon menggunakan reaksi warna FeCl3 dan benedict. Analisa kualitatif cemaran logam berat menggunakan metode reaksi warna dengan KI, NaOH, HCl dan uji nyala api. Analisis kuantitatif cemaran logam berat menggunakan mercury analyzer dan spektrofotometri serapan atom. Hasil uji kualitatif hidrokuinon diperoleh dua sampel positif mengandung hidrokuinon ditandai dengan terbentuknya warna merah bata pada sampel A dan sampel C. Sampel A dan sampel C tidak memenuhi syarat BPOM No. 18 Tahun 2015. Hasil uji kuantitatif cemaran logam berat terdapat dua sampel mengandung merkuri (Hg) dengan kadar sampel B 1,511 mg/kg dan sampel C dengan kadar 2,284 mg/kg. Kandungan cemaran logam berat merkuri sampel B dan sampel C tidak memenuhi syarat BPOM No. 12 Tahun 2019. Menurut Peraturan Kepala BPOM RI nomor 12 tahun 2019 tentang Cemaran dalam Kosmetika bahwa jenis cemaran merkuri tidak boleh lebih dari 1 mg/kg (1 ppm). Facial whitening creams containing hydroquinone and heavy metal contamination can cause black spots on the skin and disrupt the nervous system because they are toxic. This study aims to determine the content of hydroquinone and heavy metal contamination (Hg) and (Pb) and determine the level of heavy metal contamination (Hg) and (Pb) in unbranded whitening cream samples in City X is still within safe limits based on BPOM RI number 12 of 2019. The study used unbranded whitening cream samples from City X purchased directly. Qualitative analysis of hydroquinone using the FeCl3 and benedict color reaction. Qualitative analysis of heavy metal contamination using the color reaction method with KI, NaOH, HCl and the flame test. Quantitative analysis of heavy metal contamination using a mercury analyzer and atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The results of the qualitative hydroquinone test showed that two samples were positive for containing hydroquinone, indicated by the formation of a brick red color in sample A and sample C. Sample A and sample C cannot be qualifity the requirements BPOM No. 18 of 2015. The results of the quantitative test for heavy metal contamination showed that two samples contained mercury (Hg) with sample B levels of 1,511 mg/kg and sample C with levels of 2,284 mg/kg. The heavy metal contamination content of mercury in samples B and C does not comply with the requirements of BPOM No. 12 of 2019. According to the Head of the Indonesian National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM) Regulation number 12 of 2019 regarding Contamination in Cosmetics, the concentration of mercury contamination should not exceed 1 mg/kg (1 ppm).
