Abstract

Masalah rambut yang banyak ditemui yaitu kerontokan dan kebotakan rambut. Perawatan untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut salah satunya adalah serum. Kandungan Flavonoid yang terkandung dalam daun pare mempunyai aktivitas sebagai bakterisid dan antivirus yang dapat menekan pertumbuhan bakteri dan virus, sehingga mempercepat pertumbuhan rambut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membuat serum ekstrak daun pare sebagai penumbuh rambut dengan variasi konsentrasi Xanthan gum dan CMC-Na sebagai gelling agent. Ekstrak daun pare diperoleh dengan metode maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96%. Serum terdiri dari 5 formula dengan kombinasi Xanthan gum : CMC-Na (0,5% : 0,5%), (0,8% : 0,2%), (0,2% : 0,8%), serum tanpa ekstrak etanol daun pare sebagai kontrol negatif, dan minoxidil sebagai kontrol positif. Pengujian terhadap sediaan serum meliputi organoleptik, homogenitas, pH, daya sebar, viskositas, daya lekat, dan stabilitas. Uji aktivitas penumbuh rambut dilakukan dengan mengamati panjang dan berat bulu. Data hasil pengamatan dianalisis menggunakan metode One Way Anova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun pare dapat diformulasikan menjadi serum dan memiliki efek penumbuh rambut. variasi konsentrasi xanthan gum : CMC-Na berpengaruh terhadap mutu fisik, stabilitas, dan aktivitas farmakologi zat aktif. Formula 1 dengan xanthan gum : CMC-Na 0,5 : 0,5% menunjukkan hasil mutu fisik, stabilitas, dan aktivitas penumbuh rambut paling baik. Hair problems that are commonly encountered are hair loss and baldness. One of the treatments to overcome this problem is serum. Flavonoid content contained in bitter melon leaves has activity as a bactericidal and antiviral that can suppress the growth of bacteria and viruses, thus accelerating hair growth. The purpose of this study was to make a serum of bitter melon leaf extract as a hair grower with varying concentrations of Xanthan gum and CMC-Na as a gelling agent. Bitter melon leaf extract was obtained by maceration method with 96% ethanol solvent.Serum consists of 5 formulas with a combination of Xanthan gum:CMC-Na (0.5% : 0.5%), (0.8% : 0.2%), (0.2% : 0.8%), serum without bitter melon leaf ethanol extract as negative control, and minoxidil as positive control.Tests on serum preparations include organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, spreadability, viscosity, adhesiveness, and stability. Hair growth activity test was conducted by observing the length and weight of the hair. Observation data were analyzed using One Way Anova method. The results showed that bitter melon leaf extract can be formulated into a serum preparation and has a hair growth effect. xanthan gum concentration variation: CMC-Na affects the physical quality, stability, and pharmacological activity of active substances. Formula 1 with xanthan gum concentration: CMC-Na 0.5 : 0.5% showed the best physical quality, stability, and hair growth activity.
