Abstract
Kulit buah manggis (Garcinia mangostana L.) mengandung
senyawa xanthone sebagai antioksidan. Masker gel peel-off merupakan
antioksidannya.
Kulit buah manggis dibuat ekstrak dengan metode maserasi
dengan pelarut etanol 70%. Masker gel peel-off diformulasikan menjadi
tiga formula berisi ekstrak (FI: PVA 10%, HPMC 1%; FII: PVA 12%,
HPMC 1%; FIII: PVA 12%, HPMC 1,5%) dan satu kontrol basis (FIV:
PVA 12%, HPMC 1,5%), dilakukan uji mutu fisik, stabilitas dan
aktivitas antioksidan. Ekstrak dan formula diuji aktivitas antioksidannya
menggunakan metode DPPH. Hasil penelitian dianalisis secara statistik.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan konsentrasi
PVA maupun HPMC meningkatkan viskositas dan daya lekat,
mempercepat waktu mengering namun menurunkan daya sebar sediaan.
Formulasi II merupakan sediaan terbaik yang menghasilkan sediaan
masker gel peel-off dengan bentuk gel semi padat, berwarna coklat muda
dengan bau khas ekstrak, nilai pH 6,58; viskositas 15.533,33 cps; daya
sebar 5,3-6,2 cm; daya lekat 8,31 detik; waktu mengering 27,41 menit,
IC50 100,6323 ppm dan nilai AAI 1,57.
The mangosteen rind (Garcinia mangostana L.) contains
xanthone compounds as antioxidants. Peel-off gel masks are mask
preparations whose use can be exfoliated after drying. PVA is used as a
film formation, while HPMC is used as a gelling agent. The purpose of
this study was to determine the effect of variations in PVA and HPMC
concentrations in peel-off gel mask formulations on their physical
quality, stability and antioxidant activity.
The mangosteen rind extracted by maceration method with 70%
ethanol solvent. The peel-off gel mask is formulated into three extract
filled formulas (FI: PVA 10%, HPMC 1%; FII: PVA 12%, HPMC 1%;
FIII: PVA 12%, HPMC 1.5%) and one base control (FIV: PVA 12%,
HPMC 1.5%), physical, stability and antioxidant quality tests were
performed. The extract and formula were tested for antioxidant activity
using the DPPH method. The results of the study were analyzed
statistically
The results showed that increasing the concentration of PVA and
HPMC increased viscosity and adhesion, accelerated drying time but
decreased the dispersion of the preparation. Formulation II is the best
preparation that produces peel-off gel mask preparations in the form of
semi-solid gel, light brown in color with a characteristic extract odor, pH
value 6,58; viscosity 15.533,33 cps; dispersion 5,3-6,2 cm; adhesion 8,31
seconds; drying time 27,41 minutes, IC50 100,6323 ppm and AAI value
1,57.
