Abstract

kecombrang memiliki senyawa flavonoid, tannin, saponin, dan alkaloid yang berfungsi untuk mengatasi rambut rontok. Penelitian ini sebagai pengembangan ekstrak daun kecombrang yang diformulasikan menjadi sediaan emulgel karena dinilai praktis dalam mengatasi rambut rontok. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui mutu fisik yang dihasilkan emulgel ekstrak daun kecombrang, untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi ekstrak terhadap aktivitas pertumbuhan rambut pada kelinci jantan New Zealand white, serta mengetahui formula yang paling optimal. Ekstrak etanol daun kecombrang diperoleh dari ekstraksi dengan metode maserasi menggunakan etanol 96%. Ekstrak etanol daun kecombrang diformulasikan dalam sediaan emulgel dengan variasi konsentrasi ekstrak F1 (7,5%); F2 (10%); dan F3 (12,5%). Sediaan emulgel yang dihasilkan dilakukan uji mutu fisik yaitu organoleptik, viskositas, pH, daya sebar, daya lekat, dan stabilitas. Uji aktivitas emulgel menggunakan uji eksperimental dengan hewan uji kelinci New Zealand white dengan mengamati pertumbuhan rambut yaitu panjang rambut diukur hari ke 7, 14, dan 21 menggunakan jangka sorong, sedangkan bobot rambut ditimbang hari terakhir pengujian. Data hasil mutu fisik, stabilitas dan aktivitas pertumbuhan rambut dianalisis statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa formula emulgel dengan konsentrasi ekstrak (7,5%; 10%; 12,5%) memenuhi syarat uji mutu fisik dan mempunyai efek pertumbuhan rambut. Variasi konsentrasi ekstrak daun kecombrang pada emulgel mempengaruhi pertumbuhan rambut kelinci, dan formula 3 memiliki mutu fisik dan aktivitas pertumbuhan rambut yang paling optimal. Hair loss is a problem for everyone. Emulgel hair growth preparations are considered practical in treating hair loss. Combrang leaves contain flavonoids, tannins, saponins and alkaloids which function to treat hair loss. The aim of this research was to formulate kecombrang leaf extract, as well as to determine the effect of extract concentration on hair growth activity in male New Zealand white rabbits, and to determine the most optimal formula. The ethanol extract of kecombrang leaves is obtained from extraction using the maceration method using 96% ethanol. The ethanol extract of kecombrang leaves is formulated in an emulgel preparation with varying extract concentrations (7.5%; 10% & 12.5%). The resulting emulgel preparation was subjected to physical quality tests, namely organoleptic, viscosity, pH, spreadability, adhesion and stability. The emulgel activity test used experimental tests with New Zealand white rabbits by observing hair growth, namely hair length was measured on days 7, 14 and 21 using a caliper, while hair weight was weighed on the last day of testing. Data on the results of physical quality, stability and hair growth activity were analyzed statistically. The research results showed that the kecombrang leaf extract emulgel formula met the physical quality test requirements and all variations in the concentration of kecombrang leaf extract in the emulgel affected rabbit hair growth, and formula 3 had good physical quality and hair growth activity.
