Abstract
Penambahan bahan kimia obat (BKO) dalam sediaan jamu
dilarang peraturan perundang-undangan di Indonesia. Salah satu bahan
metanol : asam asetat glasial (60:30:5:5).
The addition of medicinal chemicals in herbal preparations is
prohibited by law in Indonesia. One of the drug chemicals that is
abused in herbal pain relief preparations is mefenamic acid, which is
part of class non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). The
purpose of this study was to find out whether herbal pain relief
products circulating in Ngawi and online shops met the distribution
permit requirements and to determine medicinal chemical of
mefenamic acid in herbal preparations.
The samples in this study were several brands of pain reliever
herbs from 4 herbal medicine shops (A, B, C, and D). This research is
using purposive sampling method based on inclusion criteria. Samples
was analyzed qualitatively by thin layer chromatography (TLC) method
using silica GF254 as stationary phase and cyclohexane:chloroform:
methanol:glacial acetic acid (60:30:5:5) as mobile phase The results of
the
qualitative
analysis
spectrophotometric method.
were confirmed by the UV-Vis
Herbal pain reliever products circulating in Ngawi and online
shops have registered distribution permits for 9 out of 16 samples. The
results of this study obtained 4 out of 9 samples of pain relievers with
distribution permits positive for mefenamic acid by TLC and
spechtrophotometry method.
