Abstract
PT Iskandar Indah Printing Textile is a company engaged in the garment
sector with the final product in the form of fabric. In the production process,
there are still product defects in grey fabric by 6% to 8%, namely torn edge
defects, double picks, inappropriate fabric width, dirty fabric and thick/thin
fabric. This study aims to determine the dominant types of defects, the causal
factors and provide improvement suggestions. To improve the quality of grey
fabric products in this study used the Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Failure
Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) methods. Based on the identification of the
Pareto diagram, it shows that there are two dominant types of defects: torn
edge defects with a cumulative percentage of 70% with influencing factors
based on the FTA analysis namely material, machine, human and environment.
Double pick defects with a cumulative percentage of 85% with influencing
factors based on the FTA analysis namely material, machine, human and
environment. The proposed improvements made using 5W + 1H based on the
results of the highest RPN value from the FMEA analysis are for torn edge
defects to sharpen knives and double pick defects to add ventilation equipment
such as AC/Exhaust Fans.
PT Iskandar Indah Printing Textile merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di
bidang garmen dengan hasil akhir berupa kain. Dalam proses produksi masih
mengalami kecacatan produk pada kain grey sebesar 6% sampai 8% yaitu cacat
tepi sobek, double pick, lebar kain tidak sesuai, kain kotor dan tebal/tipis.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis cacat dominan, faktor-faktor
penyebabnya dan memberikan usulan perbaikan. Untuk meningkatkan kualitas
produk kain grey dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode Fault Tree
Analysis (FTA) dan Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). Berdasarkan
identifikasi diagram pareto menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 2 jenis cacat dominan
yaitu cacat tepi sobek dengan persentase kumulatif 70% dengan faktor yang
berpengaruh berdasarkan analisis FTA yaitu material, mesin, manusia. Cacat
double pick dengan persentase kumulatif 85% dengan faktor yang berpengaruh
berdasarkan analisis FTA yaitu material, mesin, manusia dan lingkungan.
Usulan perbaikan yang dilakukan menggunakan 5W+1H berdasarkan hasil nilai
RPN tertinggi dari analisis FMEA yaitu untuk cacat tepi sobek melakukan
penajaman pisau dan cacat double pick adalah melakukan penambahan
peralatan ventilasi seperti AC/Exhaust Fan.
