Abstract
Tanaman Gamal adalah tanaman yang merupakan tumbuhan di
kawasan pantai Pasifik Amerika Tengah yang bermusim
kering.Tanaman gamal mengandung flavonid, steroid, triterpenoid,
saponin. Daun gamal memiliki aktivitas beberapa mekanisme kerja.
antidiabetes sudah diteliti. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui
aktivitas antihiperglikemik dan dosis efektif ekstrak etanol daun gamal
terhadap mencit antihiperglikemik diinduksi sukrosa.
Ekstraksi daun gamal menggunakan metode maserasi dengan
pelarut etanol 96 %. Uji antihiperglikemik ini menggunakan 5
kelompok perlakuan. Masing –masing terdiri dari 5 ekor mencit yaitu
kelompok 1 kontrol antihiperglikemik dengan pemberian CMC Na
0,5%, kelompok II kontrol obat dengan pemberian acarbose 4,25
mg/kgBB Mencit, dan kelompok III ekstrak etanol daun gamal 350
mg/kgBBmencit, kelompok IV esktrak etanol daun gamal 700
mg/kgBB mencit, kelompok V ekstrak etanol daun gamal 1050
mg/kgBB mencit.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pemberian ekstrak etanol
daun gamal memiliki aktivitas antihiperglikemik pada mencit jantan
yang diinduksi sukrosa. Dosis ekstrak etanol daun gamal yang efektif
dalam menurunkan kadar gula darah pada mencit dengan yang
diinduksi sukrosa adalah dosis 700 mg/kgBB mencit.
Gamal plant is a plant that is a plant in the Pacific coastal region
of Central America which has a dry season. Gamal plant contains
flavonids, steroids, triterpenoids, saponins. Gamal leaves have the
activity of several working mechanisms. antidiabetics have been
studied. The purpose of this study was to determine the
antihyperglycemic activity and the effective dose of ethanol extract of
gamal leaves against sucrose-induced antihyperglycemic mice.
Extraction of gamal leaves using maceration method with 96%
ethanol solvent. This antihyperglycemic test uses 5 treatment groups.
Each consisted of 5 mice, namely group 1 the antihyperglycemic
control group was given CMC Na 0.5%, group II controlled the drug by
giving acarbose 4.25 mg/kg BB Mice, and group III ethanol extract of
gamal leaves 350 mg/kg BB mice, group IV ethanol extract of gamal
leaf 700 mg/kg BB mice
The results of this study indicate that administration of ethanol
extract of gamal leaves has antihyperglycemic activity in sucrose
induced male mice. The effective dose of gamal leaf ethanol extract in
reducing blood sugar levels in mice by sucrose-induced mice was a
dose of 700 mg/kgBB body weight.
